So, I wanted to show you a few new things we have gotten over the last couple of weeks. Nothing huge and exciting, but just some fun stuff. Remember I told you I have had trouble getting inspired to decorate my kitchen? Well, I found these great sunflower clusters at Michael's and knew they would be perfect for the top of the fridge because I already have sunflower stuff in the kitchen and a HUGE sunflower painting in the dining room. The sunflowers on the fridge tie everything together nicely. I got the "Laugh" and "Live" words at Michael's for $1 each! And the recipe box (which I desperately needed) was only 50 cents!!!!!! Then I just used the cookbooks I already have to create some height for one of the sunflower clusters. I love looking at it now, and the laugh and live words create a very positive attitude in this somewhat negative person!!!
When we were in NYC with Grandad and Dee Dee, we sat down in front of Central Park to take a little break. This dude was on the street selling these framed photographs of different things in the city. I loved this one because it has the street sign for Broadway and 5th Avenue which we were about to walk down!
The pictures were 2 for $35. I know, I know. That might have been a rip-off, but it was worth it because I love these pictures. This is the second one with a bunch of famous stuff on it.
And here they are displayed together. This is the wall in the kitchen, but you can also see it from the front door. I told Chris I wanted to be able to look at these pictures alot!!!
And I FINALLY got Chris's Phantom poster framed. I couldn't ever find the size poster frame I needed, and when I took it to Michael's to see how much it would cost for them to frame it, I almost died of a heart attack. They were going to charge me $287!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was not going to fly with little Miss Frugal here! If I can't pay $20 or less for somethin', I don't want it. Anyway, Chris bought this frame on Ebay, I think, for.......guess how much..........you got it!! 20 BUCKS!
And there's our hero's autograph. On an authentic Phantom of the Opera poster. WOW!!!
We have nothing to do with this new creation, but these pictures are too good not to share. This is the tree out by our patio. These blossoms get more and more beautiful everyday. They started out as a pretty green, and now they are a crisp, clean white.
That is pretty enough to frame!!! Hum.........more decorating ideas?

Carla's Diner, Part 1
Cute, huh? And speaking of food........Chris went to a baseball game today and stopped by the store on his way home. I thought he would be getting something to eat for supper since our pantry and fridge are pretty bare. When he got home he unloaded the bags, and here's a list of what he got:
Coco Puffs cereal
Honey Bunches of Oats with chocolate clusters
Nestle Semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Milano Double Chocolate Cookies
A package of Ho Hos
A gallon of milk
Do you see a theme?! And here's the best part. Guess what his reason was for what he bought.......he thought it would put me in a better mood!!!!!

New News
Since it warmed up last week, the trees around here are just gorgeous. There are trees with blossoms all over them everywhere you look. There are so many different colors and sizes of trees, it is just amazing. And what's even more amazing is that the wind doesn't blow the blossoms off in a day!!! Good 'ole Lubbock......I miss it sometimes! Anyway, I just stepped out on our patio and took this picture. You can see the playground too.
I was going to Walmart the other day and there is this whole line of trees right on the road that are loaded down with blossoms. This picture does not do justice to how it looks in real life.
These are some of our favorite blossoms. They are just unbelievably gorgeous!!!
This is some kind of magnolia tree. These blossoms started out a deep purple, and as they have opened up, they have become a light pink. Jaron is in the background on his bike!
This little cardinal has been eating out of our bird feeder lately. He is so pretty!!! Now I know why they call New Jersey the Garden State. It's like living in a garden!!!! And last but not least, Jaron has learned when his birthday is. I know you will enjoy this ADORABLE video of him reciting his name, how to spell it, how old he is and when his birthday is. He also told me his prince turned into a beast!!

I Forgot a Picture!
I forgot this picture of Grandad and Dee Dee in the previous post. It was too good to leave out! They are enjoying their ride on the train. Notice that in this picture Jordan is sitting by Dee Dee (you can see her sleeve in the corner)!!!!!!

Our Weekend with Grandad and Dee Dee
Jaron jumped up in Grandad's lap as soon as he got to our apartment. It was hard to get a picture of him sitting still!
On Friday Jordan got out of school at 1:00pm, so we headed to the city to hang out with Chris. He had gone in early for a call-back audition and had most of the day free. Here's Grandad, Dee Dee, Jordan and Jaron waiting for the 1:39 train at our train station. Good picture, huh?
The train ride took a little over an hour, so Jordan changed seats at least a thousand times! Here she is telling Grandad that there are strawberries on her shirt. I think he had called them something else, so she was correcting him (imagine that!).
Grandad's first ride on a New York City subway! We got on the subway in Penn Station and rode to Times Square.
Grandad and Dee Dee just walked out of the big subway entrance on Times Square. It's the one with the huge lighted sign. Dee Dee's got her camera out, ready to snap some pictures.
And here's the gang in Times Square. As Dee Dee said, it is totally different to see everything in real life. You can see all of these things on TV and in pictures, but it doesn't compare to seeing them in person.
Much to Chris's embarrassment :), Jordan and I got lais from the Hawaiian Tropics model standing in Times Square. I think we look pretty good, don't you?
Jordan and Jaron are riding the subway to Central Park. Sorry the picture is blurry!!! I will get another one soon.
Grandad, Dee Dee and Jaron are enjoying a break from walking. They are resting in front of Central Park, and Jaron talked us into buying him a Spongebob Squarepants popsicle. Grandad was making sure it didn't drip any more than it already had!
Jordan wanted to take a picture of something. She usually takes pictures of random things like trash cans or the floor, but this time she wanted a picture of me and Grandad. We were taking a potty break at the Gap on 5th Avenue.
Saint Patrick's Cathedral on 5th Avenue. This is were the Pope was the very next day. Chris said the city was a mad house!
Thank goodness we are home! We got home Friday evening around 8:30 or so. We all crashed from our busy afternoon in the city. We walked and walked and walked, and then ate a huge piece of cheese cake at the Stage Deli. They say everything in Texas is bigger.......not so. This cheese cake is big enough to feed 4 people!!!!!!!
Day 2 began with a lazy morning. Jordan and Grandad ate some cereal together.
Jaron could not resist jumping on the air mattress everytime I turned my back on him. I am not sure what kind of pose this is but it is cute!
Jaron is pointing to the spider on his jammies.
And now he is showing me his webs! I think he might actually be Spiderman when he grows up!!!!
Jordan and Jaron spent their last night with Dee Dee reading. Jordan picked out a story about dinosaurs and Dee Dee had trouble pronouncing all of the names!!! They had fun reading together!!!!
We really enjoyed our weekend with Grandad and Dee Dee, we just wish they could have stayed longer. We love you Grandad and Dee Dee!!!!!!!!!!!

One More Night in Texas

Our last night in Lubbock we had sandwiches with the McNutts and Granny. Again, we had a great time being together. Candace, the kids and I had a rousing game of Duck, Duck Goose on the trampoline. Then we all took turns showing off our tricks on the trampoline. As usual, everyone ended up making fun of me and how silly I looked!! But it was a blast!!!!!! After we ate sandwiches, Granny played with all 4 of the kiddos while Chris and I visited with Wes and Candace. After a while, one of the kids wandered in with some silly glasses on. I think it was Claire. When you push a button, the eyes and ear pieces light up with a laser-like red light. It is very freaky! Candace and Jaden had to demonstrate several times. Candace said Jaden bought them at the school store! He also had his face painted that day. He had a huge black snake all over his face. I just love it!!!!!!!

The Gang!
Back row: Devin, Steve, Uncle Chad, Papa, Aunt Winda (Linda), Uncle John and Daddy
Bottom row: Aunt Janice, Me, Grandaddy, Jaron, Jordan, Danielle and Nana

What a face, Danielle :)
The Friday we were in Lubbock, Chris turned 29! But he couldn't let me forget that I will be turning 31 later this year. Anyway, we had a little celebration with the other Bohannons at 50th Street Caboose. Oh, the memories! I haven't had Tex Mex since then!! (sniff, sniff) We had a great time with family, and the kids had a blast playing games. Jordan picked out a Chinese fan, harmonica and Tootsie Rolls for her prize. Jaron picked out a rubber snake, harmonica and Tootsie Rolls for his prize. Chris picked out a Whoopie cushion!! It was very fun! Chris got some great birthday cards, too. Thanks to everyone who made his birthday special. We love all of you!!

A few weeks ago Jaden got to be the first kindergartener at Honey Elementary School to say the Pledge of Allegiance on the morning announcements. While we were in Lubbock, I asked him to say it for me.........then Jordan said she could do it......then they wanted to do it together! Press play on the window below; I know you will enjoy this video!!

More Spring Break!

Here's some pictures from our first full day in Lubbock. We spent part of the day out at Uncle Wes and Aunt Candace's house. As you can see, the kids and Spiderman had a great time on the trampoline! What is so amazing is that last year about this time, Jordan and Jaron were scared to even get on the trampoline because it is so high. I guess they have grown a little bit and conquered a few monsters over the past year!! It is so fun to watch them play together.
