Findings from the Beach and What has Become of Them

This is just a portion of what made it home from the beach (besides lots and lots of sand).

Mermaid's purses............in case you don't have a walking encyclopedia as a child, a Mermaid's purse is the case for a shark egg. Yikes! These were tiny, the sharks that came out of these were probably the size of a minnow.

A strange wing from some poor insect and a mussle shell with a barnacle.

A crab shell........
And more crab legs than I wish to have in my home.

Jaron's creation with the crab shell and various legs :)

My favorite part...a menagerie of wave-beaten, sun-bleached shells.

Beach 2011

Last Friday the kids and I decided to head to Belmar and spend the afternoon at the beach. The weather was perfect; not too hot, the clouds would hide the sun from time to time, and my umbrella only blew away once! The only thing that would have made it better was if Chris was with us.

The water was a little chilly.....but it didn't stop the kids one bit!

After a dip in the chilly Atlantic....I was a bit of a weeny!!!

Parasailing......looked awesome but I know I would barf.

Yellow toes in the warm sand...

And a dino!!!!!!

Oooo, and some green piggies, too :)

We took a bathroom/playground break for about 30 minutes. The lifeguards went off-duty at 5 and the beach pretty much cleared. That was the perfect time to be there.....we went back and played a little longer. The only condition was they could only get in the water up to their ankles since the lifeguards were gone. Mean 'ol Mom.

T-rex Jaron!

I think this was the most fun they had all day. They let the waves roll them around all over the place. Jordan got a bathing suit FULL of sand. We couldn't get it out because it was in the liner!

We are going to head back on Monday for a few hours with Daddy. After living the first 30 years of my life 10 hours from the Gulf of Mexico, I really hope we can take advantage of living 36 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. We love it!!!

Texas Comes to Princeton

These pictures are horribly out of order and I am too lazy to fix them!!! The last week of June we enjoyed a visit from Nana, Papa, Grandpa Small, Jeanette and Josie (the dog). We enjoyed every minute of it and wish they were still here!!

The following are all pictures of Washington Crossing State Park.......

This is infront of Papa's favorite New Jersey diner....The Americana.

The next set of pics is in Princeton. We went to the Bent Spoon to get ice cream and just hung around outside for a while.

Nana went to the pool with us.......

Cuddling at night with Josie :) She is the perfect house dog....we love her to death!

We watched Daddy's Phantom rehearsal one day. He is now rehearsing a new show....Sister Act. He had 3 auditions for it the week his parents were here. SA called him the day after N and P left and offered him the job. He is really excited to do something brand new to Broadway. It's a fun show....he is going to have some funny costumes too :)

And of course we took a trip to Terhune Orchards to feed the animals and pick blueberries.

Taking a break....it was hot!

And I just had to include this picture. It's a little tacky of me, but isn't this what you would wear to the FARM? White shorts and platform shoes? I mean, really. Did you not realize you were going to the FARM, lady?!

Jordan and Jaron just absolutely love little Josie :)
