I realize I have failed to post faithfully. I realize that many of you use this blog to keep up with our lives half-way across the country. I am so sorry I haven't posted recently!! We have done plenty of things to post about BUT, I got a new phone with an awesome camera and until I can figure out how to put those amazingly wonderful pictures on the blog, I can only write! So, here's a quick update:
*Chris is great, still in Sister Act. Raven-Symone (little Olivia from the Cosby Show) is now the lead and we got to see her perform a few weeks ago. We actually got free tickets too! First time in 5 years. Only bad thing was it was a Wednesday night, the kids and I were POOPED and we (me and Chris) watched a wasted guy throw up on a dude on the train ride home. Oh, and then the conductors let him get in his car and drive home. Yeah. Welcome to New Jersey, where idiots abound.
*Jaron spent several weeks obsessed with "the frog pond". It's really a drainage hole behind our complex, but there are several green frogs that live there. They are all about the size of my hand or bigger, they come out of the hole to sun all the time and he has caught them in his butterfly net repeatedly. Very cute! Now the bugs are way too bad to go hang out over there, but we will catch up with them later :)
*Chris has given me several very sweet, thoughtful gifts in the last several months. He bought me an iPhone because I became obsessed about wanting to take good pictures with some of the cool apps available. He also bought me a tablet, so we are now overflowing with portable electronics. And he bought me a bottle of real perfume. He and I went to TJMaxx and bought a $20 bottle of Tommy Bahama for women, but I discovered pretty quickly that I was allergic to it. Grrrrrr. So he went to Macy's one day before he left for 2 shows, bought me a bottle of Clinique Happy, and put it in my car at the school I was at in Princeton. Needless to say, when I got in my car to go get lunch and saw the sweet card and gift, I cried. He is so good to me.
*Jordan went camping again with the Girl Scouts. Jaron and I spent the day at the camp site with them....I am starting to love that place! We had so much fun. We had an archery lesson, they rode the zipline, Jaron and I got to paddle boat and we saw a turtle and lots of little, silver fish. And as we were taking a quick nature walk with some of the girls, we watched a snake swimming in the water for about 10 minutes. It was so fun!!! (P.S. Jordan totally rocks at archery. Out of the 12 or so arrows she shot, she only missed the target 1 time. And several times she hit the line right before the bullseye! That's my girl!!)
*I went on a field trip with a group of 3rd graders in Princeton. We went to the Princeton Battlefield and visited the Clark House and Quaker Meeting House that is there as well. It was so cool. I am very thankful that we had family that fought in the Revolutionary War. I find the colonial time period so interesting.
*Jaron's assistant Cub Scout leader passed away a few weeks ago, very suddenly. It was very, very sad and scouting hasn't been the same since. Jaron was able to march in the Memorial Day parade though. I am glad he got to do that. Those of you who know Jaron best will not be surprised to know that he complained the entire time!!!
*And we are experiencing our first heat wave of the summer this week. It is awful. I can't stand the humidity. I have had a headache for 3 days because of it.
There you have it, a brief synopsis of our lives since the last time I blogged. The end of the year is always crazy, ridiculous busy. I will do my best to figure out how to post my iPhone pics.....hope you are all having a good summer so far!! We love you all!!!!!

Don't worry.....we're still here!
I realized the other day it's been since January since I have posted about our lives! Sorry y'all!! I know this is one way so many of you keep informed about what's going on with us. Alot has happened since January.....not anything super, totally exciting but definitely some things to talk about. The above picture sums up Jaron's entire existence this year. Dinosaurs. The other day he was playing with them in the sand box and ran in asking me to take a picture. He happens to be the smartest, cutest 2nd grader I know!!!
And Jordan is soooooo busy being a girl. She attended the Girl Scouts Hollywood Dance a couple of weekends ago. She loves going....it really is very cute to see all of them get dressed up, dance and chit-chat!
I am terrible with hair. Absolutely terrible. She wanted hers curled, etc. so I went online to try and find a pretty, but VERY simple way to fix it. We ran across this idea. Other than the bobby pin sticking out a little, it turned out well. And it stayed up all night too!!
She and her little friends are so cute! She and Ameera are inseparable, of course, and that's another GS friend, Kyra. Every time I take a pic of Jordan and Ameera they look more and more grown-up. But with make-up on they look like teenagers almost!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!

Winter Concert
Pre-concert
Jordan and Ameera.....they are so grown up from the two little girls who met on the bus in kindergarten!
Jordan and another bestie....Khushi.
A couple of weeks ago we got to enjoy Jordan's very first orchestra concert. She has been wanting to play the violin for the longest time.....I am sooooo incredibly thankful that in our school district, the kids can make the choice to play an instrument starting in 4th grade. The earlier the better!! She has a wonderful teacher and the concert was fantastic! It is the beginner orchestra....there are so many they had to split the group and have 2 concerts! I was so impressed with the quality of sound. These kids have only been using their bows to play with since November. There were no bows hitting other bows, their rest position was always good, they knew exactly when to raise their instruments to play, and they had perfect concert etiquette. It is not easy dealing with so many children AND their instruments!! The following video was my favorite song....French Folk Song. We are so proud of Jordan and how grown-up she is becoming!!

Christmas with the Brady Bunch
This year in New Jersey Christmas did not bring snow......it brought Bohannons!! The Lubbock Bohannons, aka Nana and Papa, and the Brady Bohannons, aka Brandon, Kelly, Keats and Kemper, all joined us for a wonderful holiday time. The boys didn't waste any time getting out toys and making noise!! Keats told Kelly, "I know what Aunt Marcy is going to do when she sees me. She is going to hug me, then tickle me." He was right!!!! And he came to NJ without his 2 front teeth!
These 4 had the best time....I am so glad they got to see each other. Time with cousins is priceless.
Reading with Nana :)
We spent most of our time talking, chilling and eating! One requirement was a take-out order from Sultan Wok....our favorite Chinese place. B and K don't have any good Asian places in Brady. They didn't have to ask Chris twice!!!!
Reading in Aunt Marcy's bed!! Sweet memories :)
Reading some more!
Kemper has a bathtub radar. If he hears it running, he's half-naked and jumping right in! Aren't they just absolutely adorable?!?!?
The weather was a little chilly for the kids to play outside, so we took them to Chuck E Cheese's one day to expend some energy....worked like a charm!
And one of the most fun and adventurous days we had was the trip into NYC.
My boys! Except for the big one in the back making the weird face ;)
Keats and Kemper's first subway ride!
After the subway ride, we waded through a mass of people on 5th ave, shuffled around the skating rink and found a place to squeeze in a few pictures. It was mayhem and chaos. I have never been in such a crowd in the NYC before. I cannot believe we ALL survived!!
We literally had only a couple of minutes to snap a pic of the kids and the tree before the crowd swept us away. This one turned out really well!! We even got one of the angels in the pic!
Nana wanted to look at store windows, but we realized we were quickly running out of time before Chris had to be at the theater. We ran across the street to Saks 5th ave and looked at their window displays.....it did the trick!! This is the kids infront of the window with all the storybook characters.
We had a quick bite to eat at B and K's favorite place, The Stage Deli.
And we made it around the corner to the theater in time to snap some more pics with Chris.
The lights behind us are from Times Square.
On stage after the show....the whole gang! We had the best time in the city.....it was a huge success. The only thing looming over us was that the Brady Bohannons had to leave the next day :(
So after BK3 went home, we had a few days to hang with Nana and Papa before school started back. We pretty much just lazed around the apartment and ate lots of yummy food! On Chris's day off we went to Mercer County park and walked around for a little bit. It was a little chilly, but lots of fun.
We discovered this sign inside the "grandparents grove". It says, "No cowboy was ever faster on the draw that a grandparent pulling a baby picture out of a wallet." Sooooooo appropriate!
We took a walk out to the gazebo on the water. (This was the same gazebo covered by the lake during the hurricane).
As always we had a fabulous time with everyone. And it was too short. Always is. We are thankful that they all made the sacrifices necessary to come see us. Now it's our turn. See you in February!!!!!
