The Wibbly Wobbly Tooth

Once upon a time, in a far away land called New Jersey, lived a beautiful princess. Of all the princesses in the land she was by far the most fair. Her golden brown locks framed her bright, glowing face and her lovely hazel eyes were a light into her spirited and loving soul. But above all her features was her mouth. Her smile could light up any room, and her laugh was infectious. Her adorable dimple added to the charm that radiated about her. This princess was appropriately named Jordan, which meant "flowing down", because the joy she brought flowed from person to person, and all who knew her called her "the joy of my life".

One day, as Jordan was entertaining herself in her sleeping quarters, she came upon a most wonderful discovery. The wibbly wobbly tooth that she had been playing with for weeks had finally released itself from her mouth! She ran to where her loving mother was tending the daily laundry and exclaimed, "Mommy, Mommy!!! My tooth! It came out!" Needless to say, her mother was overjoyed for the newest milestone in sweet Jordan's life. Her mother quickly offered her congratulations and proceeded to call Jordan's daddy. Princess Jordan was so overjoyed herself that she was almost in hysterics! Before her mother could even dial the phone number, Jordan had pulled the phone out of her hands and began to relay her story to an empty end of the line. However, it wasn't long until her handsome daddy answered the phone and she began her discourse once more. Just as her mother's was a reaction of happiness and excitement, so was her daddy's.

No sooner had the princess bid her father good-bye than she began to speak of the Tooth Fairy. Oh, what a marvelous creature the Tooth Fairy proved to be. She faithfully delivered to Princess Jordan one crisp dollar bill in exchange for the priceless tooth. Jordan was a little anxious, however. She was hoping to keep her beloved tooth, her very first baby tooth. Fortunately, the Tooth Fairy was not only faithful, but very wise. She spoke to the princess's father when he came in for the evening, and it was very quickly settled that the tooth would stay in the possession of child. Thus, the wibbly wobbly tooth stayed very closely to the princess for the remainder of her precious life. THE END

My Guys

One thing I love about the 4th of July is the sale that the Gap and Old Navy have. The kids and I went to the mall on the 4th and I bought Jaron this cute shirt from Old Navy and some new shorts to go with it. I bought this shirt because Chris has one very similar to it. They wore their matching shirts to church on Sunday!! Aren't they handsome?

Say Hello to My Little Friend

This post will be dedicated to all of the "little" friends we make on a daily basis. It is wonderful being a parent because you get to see the world through the eyes of your children. And, thanks to our big God, they have big eyes!! Sometimes I wish I could just revisit the innocence of childhood and enjoy things the way they do. They don't wake up worrying about their to-do list and how much of it they will be able to get done. They don't fret over phone calls that need to be made or bills that need to be paid. There is no worry about where their food or clothing will come from. Come to think of it, children are just like that little sparrow that God has His eye on. Mr. Sparrow doesn't worry about nourishment or a place to call home. It is all provided for him, and Jordan and Jaron have the same attitude. They just get up and live life. And not only do they live life, but they enjoy it. Don't you think that is what abundant life is? Just getting up and depending completely on the One who has it all under control? That is what Jordan and Jaron do. They know that Chris and I will take care of them no matter what. I want the same to be said about my faith in God and His Son Jesus. I don't know about you, but I needed to be reminded of that! Enjoy these pictures of our abundant life!!!



Little Friend #1...He jumped out of one of the plants on the patio when I was watering it the other day. Is he not just the cutest little frog you have ever seen!!





Little Friend #2...On Saturday our township had a Freedom Festival at one of the parks nearby. The kids and I went for a little while and they took a little pony ride. I felt like I was back in Texas! Did you know that Texas and New Jersey have the most horses of any other states in the nation? And did you know this was Jordan's first pony ride ever? She wasn't scared at all!!!

Little Friend #3...On Monday after lunch we took a trip over to the movie theater to see "Iron Man". Jaron is very into superheros, in case you didn't know, so we all went to see a movie that he's been chomping at the bit to see. When we got there, this huge statue of the Hulk was in the lobby. Jaron was beside himself with joy!!!

Three Strikes...You're Out!!

Have dirt, will play. If dirt is available, Jaron will find it and he will dig in it. Jordan decided to follow suit this time. They come out of the city looking like ragamuffins, and this did not help!!!!
Jaron and his dirt angels! He kept getting upset with Jordan because she was messing them up. The reason she was messing them up is because "you don't make snow angels in the dirt".
End of the game. Unfortunately, Phantom lost, but we had fun anyway!!!

The softball field Chris played on was right next to the Central Park carousel, and Jordan was dying to ride it.




We were walking out of the park when we saw this lone turkey sitting on the grass in the park. What a sight that was! A wild turkey in Central Park!!!

Jordan trying a rib at "Hill Country BBQ". A friend told us about the restaurant, so we tried it after the softball game. It was great!!! I felt like I was back in Texas...the waitress even said "ya'll". Unfortunately she is from Illinois, not the Lone Star State.
After church on Sunday, Chris surprised us with a trip to "Serendipity", an eclectic restaurant found only in Manhattan. They are famous for their "Frrrrrrozen Hot Chocolate". It is definitely a tourist attraction, but it was cool! The ballerinas from Phantom took a picture at the restaurant and it is included in their calendar that is hanging in the kid's room.

The Birthday Party

That pink furry thing on Jordan's head is a tiara with a big flashing 6 on it. Sorry, I didn't get a good picture of it. I was more focused on getting a pic of the Birthday Princess!!

Harriet was in Jordan's dance class. Her family is from London. We like to listen to them talk!!
There's the life of the party...Vivian! No party is complete without her!! She and her family are moving to Connecticut on Wednesday :(
Annie (striped shirt) was in Jordan's class. That is her little sister tagging along. They both look exactly like their mother!
Well, we can't forget the other life of the party!!! Jaron was the only boy at the park and he sure did make his presence known among the girls.
After the party, we went to Shanghi Park, a Chinese restaurant that Vivian's parents recommended to us. I guess since we were eating Chinese food, Jaron thought it was time to meditate like Po in Kung Fu Panda!!
